Assalamualaikum…

The pre-planned somehow just a plan... But good to have a plan rather than all is un-planned... I am being rational to the phrase "Kita mampu merancang tapi Allah yang menentukan". Life getting miserable with unpredicted time table and task suddenly came in... However, that is the obstacles that have to be passed through... Insyallah, Noni Nadiah adapting the rythm of being a researcher. I should say it better than before. However, not yet fully equipped.
Hahaha... Kelakar pon ada.. Lama sungguh snow di Leeds ni ya? Padahal bunga-bunga spring pon dah semakin menunjukkan warnanya...
This time, do enjoice my Europe piccas... I uploaded to my facebook in 13 series which approximately 60piccas/series... Again, I am so sorry all viewers. I am not able to upload all in fotopages. I found it convenient and faster to upload in FACEBOOK with 60 pics/upload compared to 6pics/upload here... Come and join me at my facebook ya!
Love,
Noni Nadiah Md Yusoff

Snow in Leeds again!
|
|
Assalamualaikum…
I have been in Leeds for 2 months and 10 days. Officially declared as a student about 2 months and 3 days and given a task to be studied just about a month and 15 days ago. Authorities given by host-parent (Incik Hizamel dan Puan Aziati) to start a new SINGLE life was last 3 weeks. It’s obviously shown… nn menghitung hari...
HOWEVER, life has to be begun. The obstacles have to be waded and the inner-spirits have to be strenghten. With blesses from Allah swt, family and friends… insyallah Noni Nadiah BOLEH! Currently, the excitement and vision still deep inside me… Hope it’s not been faded. I am Contemplating, Enjoying and Searching.
The UK had struggle with a second day of disruption after the heaviest snowfalls in 18 years, with thousands of schools closed. Noni Nadiah blessed by Allah to exprience the beauty of world in different colour. It's merely amazing. Therefore, I would like to share the moments through my ixus's lense. However, I am so sorry all viewers. I am not able to upload every single piccas in fotopages. The confined and limited time caused me not to do so… However, some of them can be defined via my FACEBOOK. Come and join me at my facebook ya!

Christmas in LONDON
|
|
Assalamualaikum…
Finally the fotopages is updated. Alhamdulillah, the journey was successful and a felicitous trip. London is merely one of the world's business, financial and cultural centre and its influence in media which contribute to its status as a major global city. Some tourist spots are long-familiar via movie and television eventually real in front of my eyes. Thank you to Allah for giving this opportunity and chances for me to appreciate His beautiful world.
The collages were made from the raw collections of 2 days in London. The total collection is hundreds. Hence, I am so sorry all viewers. I am not able to upload every single piccas in fotopages. The confined and limited time caused me not to do so… However, some of them can be defined via my FACEBOOK.
Last but not least, Salam Maal Hijrah 1430 and the very Happy New Year 2009 go to everyone. May this new year bring newly found prosperity, love, happiness and delight in your future life.
Love,
Noni Nadiah Md Yusoff

I have some piccs collection which will be uploaded later. Nn is finding the sweet and suitable time to updates. Some of them can be defined via my FACEBOOK. In the intervening time, nn would like to allocate good news from our school in Leeds.
School of Electric and Electrical Engineering, University of Leeds is awarded the BEST school in the United Kingdom according to Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008. The School is celebrating its position as Number 1 in the UK in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), with an outstanding grade-point average (GPA) of 3.05, and an overwhelming 80% of activity rated as internationally excellent or World leading. This clearly confirms the School’s position as the leading electronic and electrical engineering department in the UK and a leader in the field internationally.
The full explanation on RAE can be read from the article posted.
The article is courtesy with permission from my best buddy @ host , Puan Aziati Husna Awang. Do click on her name and get full whittle of her ‘chicken soup for the soul’. She is definately a good writer! (Ummi… official announcement has been made.. regular updates are needed! …)
Thank you Allah Almighty for giving me this opportunity. Belongs as part of best school in UK, jumble with the world class school members and learn with high profile academicians are a great privileged. I will try my best to gain cognitions for the sake of my religion, my Malaysia and my family. Bless me Ya Allah!

Yes, as the title spell it out, we are the best Electronic and Electrical Engineering School in the United Kingdom, according to RAE 2008 (Research Assesment Exercise 2008).
What is RAE?
The Research Assessment Exercise is a peer review exercise to evaluate the quality of research in UK higher education institutions
The primary purpose of the RAE 2008 was to produce quality profiles for each submission of research activity made by institutions. The four higher education funding bodies intend to use the quality profiles to determine their grant for research to the institutions which they fund with effect from 2009-10. Any HEI in the UK that is eligible to receive research funding from one of these bodies was eligible to participate.
Qouting the school website in a few article:
"The School is celebrating its position as Number 1 in the UK in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), with an outstanding grade-point average (GPA) of 3.05, and an overwhelming 80% of activity rated as internationally excellent or World leading. This clearly confirms the School’s position as the leading electronic and electrical engineering department in the UK and a leader in the field internationally.
As a research intensive University the RAE is vitally important to us; high rankings enable us to attract increased funding and investment, as well as the very best staff and students."
Research Excellence
1. The top electronic and electrical engineering school in the UK based on the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), with a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.05, and an overwhelming 80% of staff rated 3* or 4*. This denotes research of international standing and enables us to attracting funding to invest further in our reserach and facilities and to attract and retain outstanding staff.
2. 100 years of history and has built on its long standing tradition of microwave engineering to also lead the world in terahertz technology and the semiconductor, bio- and quantum electronic aspects of nanotechnology.
3. Recent investment in infrastructure and research staff in communications and signal processing has projected that area onto the international stage.
" Please visit http://www.engineering.leeds.ac.uk/elec/
We are also having most of our research assessed as 4* and 3* as 4* being the highest rank for RAE2008....http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/table/2008/dec/18/rae-electrical-engineering

Assalamualaikum wbt…
It’s a SNOW in Leeds…. Worth-waiting… Sungguh berbaloi untuk first timer macam nn ni… It was my first snow experienced ever…. Receiving a snow updates from Mummy Hamim in Manchester, Baiti in Salford, Haliza in Aachen and Kak Linda in NewCastle last few days, make me being a daily window best-friend.. Nak tidur tengok tingkap, bangun tidur tengok tingkap… dengan pertanyaan… “Bila snow nak datang sini?’…hahaha
Yesterday, I was surfing the Leeds’s weather forecast... Oh! It should be snow tomorrow… Tapi tak mo lah letak harapan tinggi sangat… nanti tak snow… nn yang snowy! Tapi dalam kononnya tak letak harapan tu, malamnya sebelum tidur dah prepare the snow set, charge camera and so on! Hahaha… See! How jakun I am…
Pagi-pagi dah bangun… And YESSSSSS. It’s snow laa……………….. Mandi dulu… Then, grab the thermal set, new jeans (Thanks ana.. BUM ni sangat best ), winter socks, jumper, muffler, gloves (Thanks fazida! Thanks geng FEIT: kakmas, eza, fatimah, anita, kaksu, dayang++… it’s much help me to shelter myself here). Once get the permission by puan host, my ixus with me did a good job. Not excellent enough, I need to learn using the best mode during the winter as the photos are little bit fogging… Not much best shot have been taken… Did I lose my touch??? Ya la kan! Hmmm… Practice make perfect, dear!
Then, I walked up dan turun semula dengan Hafiy, Hasya, KakYong and Abah. Ummi and humaira are not joining us. They are still suffering on high fever since last 2 days. Get well soon ya Ummi… We can enjoy the next snow sama-sama!
Have a look of piccas taken by my ixus.

Day One in University of Leeds
|
|
Assalamualaikum wbt...
“Ya! Allah...
Doing PhD is merely a day dream. Being in Leeds another stargazes. But, I have to wake me up from the entire woolgather and extremely working hard. No Pain No Gain is definitely appropriate for the degrees.
The day one in University of Leeds held smoothly with kind facilitates. Thanks Ati, Mel dan Lin… Your highest determination inspired me much towards. Morning session was equipped with registration matters in E C Stoner Building. The afternoon was face-to-face session with Prof Supervisor after 5 months been emailing. I had pleasant introduction and faculty tour without fully technical discussion. The desk and pc are prepared. I’ve been told, I was placed at desk of Malaysian PhD student which back for goods before last Hari Raya. I guessed the aura will diffuse in me too…
The technical discussion among the supervisors will be held on December, 5. The discussion is merely imperative to define the exact direction of the research work. Sekali lagi Ya Allah... Rabbi Yassir Wala Tu Assir Rabbi Atmim Bilkhair…
Love,
Noni Nadiah binti Md Yusoff

My Puzzle Day
|
|
Assalamualaikum..
Sedikit update dari Leeds ya....
Currently nn is adapting a new temperature level in Leeds.. Sangat sejuk tapi belum mula snow lagi... Nn also has been fully recovered from Winter Bug... Mula-mula, ingatkan this winter bug adalah sejenis harmful bug as ladybird, or bee or paling tak best pon as langau.... But, i was definately wrong. Winter bug is a virus called Norovirus. Noroviruses are a group of viruses that are the most common cause of gastroenteritis (stomach bugs) in England and Wales. The illness is self-limiting and the symptoms will last for 12 to 60 hours. The symptoms will start with the sudden onset of nausea followed by projectile vomiting and watery diarrhoea. Syukur and thank Allah, nn was suffering only for 12 hours... Tak melarat panjang... Kalo tak, tak pasal-pasal kena tahan wad plak... Now, i am 100% fit to start a new life!
These few days, nn is enjoying her non-student life indoors sambil main-main puzzle... Orang British ni suka sungguh main puzzle.... Sebab tu diorang pandai kot.. From Mr.Wiki, puzzles are often contrived as a form of entertainment, but they can also stem from serious mathematical or logistical problems — in such cases, their successful resolution can be a significant contribution to mathematical research. Solutions to puzzles may require recognizing patterns and creating a particular order. People with a high inductive reasoning aptitude may be better at solving these puzzles than others. Puzzles based on the process of inquiry and discovery to complete may be solved faster by those with good deduction skills.
There are several types of puzzles... Puzzle untuk sekecik-kecik boy and girls smpailah ke veteran level. It is what so happened in 18, Shay Street too... This little cheeky boy named Hafiy Addin bin Hizamel is a puzzle-lover... Semua orang memang kena main puzzle dengan dia... umi, abah, kakak aya, kakak hasya, kak yong... termasuk Auntie Ngo Ngi!
Have a look to some piccass on puzzle day between Hafiy and his Auntie Ngo Ngi...
Love,
Noni Nadiah Md Yusoff

From Leeds with Love
|

Assalamualaikum wbt
NN selamat sampai ke Leeds Bradford International Airport tru pada jam 8.30malam 22 November 2008 with a minimal challenge. The journey was started at 1045am in KLIA. I'm flying to Heathrow International Airport, London via Malaysian Airlines. 13 hours and 30 minutes are fulfilled with TVs on demand, acara makan-makan (2 big lunchs and a tea) dan last but not least, kesat ayaq mata. Mashed potato+beef steak, magnum ice cream, layered berry mousse cake (sangat sedap), chicken salad, steam rice and chicken in Chinese cooking style, orange juices (kenapa orange juice MAS sangat tak besh sekarang?), finding NEMO, ayat-ayat cinta and bejeweled2 killing the time and gloominess.
British Midland Airways kat Terminal 1… Sampai sana, urusan check in and visa clarification dibuat dengan mudah. Syukur sangat-sangat.. Berkat Rabbi Yassir Wala Tu Assir Rabbi Atmim Bil Khair. Diorang takde plak check x-ray sumer.. Cuma tanya study kat mana, area apa +++… Thanks Mr. Rolland!
Perjalanan diteruskan ke Leeds Bradford International Airport via Fokker British Midland Airways flight. Kapal terbang ni macam naik bas 2+1 seaters jek… Sangat kecil… It took 1 hour from London to Leeds. Safely arrived in Leeds at 8.23pm. Kalo kat Malaysia dah 4 pagi ni… Siap ada Mat Salleh tegur, u'r eyes turned to redish… heheh.. Punyalah sejuk.. dah gigil kaki tangan. Dah -5˚C… Then, I've been told my luggage left in London… teng teng teng… The big bag will be arrived on the next day. Redha jek la… Aziati and hubby, Hizamel collect me to their home sweet home…
Esok pagi.. pukul 4 pagi dah terjaga.. jetlag lah tu… Dengar bunyi drizzling kat luar,, Tengok2 ujan.. Pastu berani kan diri keluar kat hanger.. Nampak putih-putih? Snow kah? Rupanya hujan ais.. Sbb cuaca sejuk sngat, the rain drops turned to ice… Jakun sungguh nn masa tu... hope it's a good sign to welcome nn here!
The first day started dengan pergi carboot sale. It's my first carboot experience… nak cari baju dan kasut.. tapi dapat baju yang murah2… baju utk sjuk2 ni less than 1 pound. Kasut tak jumpa.. Kena carik carboot lain plak… Then, the day out been continued to party umah Kak Emi di Breeston. It's actually her birthday surprised party… Tapi dah jadik macam jamuan makan besar-besaran.
It's all about my first day in Leeds.. Sekarang ni blum dapat rumah lagik.. Aziati asked me to stay with her sampai raya haji.. Dan akan balik kampong to her house at Shay Street juga bila-bila perlu… Her anak-anak are very attached to me.. Tiap-tiap malam nak tidoq dengan auntie noni! Hahaha...
But... the trip is kind of jihad fisabilillah too… So lebih kurang la konsep perjalanannya… Thanks to Ayah, Mak, MakTok, Ana and Ika, Zili, Yati Nenet, Abah, Mak, AyahNgah, Along, Angah, Adik Apis, MakTeh, Jiji, SuDa, PakWan, CikguHarimah, Azhar, Mexx+Wifey, KakFisha, Fathin, Andak, FatinNajihah, FirasNabil, Tun, Sofiee, Sabrina, InaHangat, CheZam, AliyaZulaika, AmiraAyishah, Dayang, Yusniati, KamaAzura, KYati, Din, Zana+baby, Syafiq, Fazmi, Gundai, Atikah, Adot+Hubby, KakWati+Hubby dan BigAdam... Am I missing anyone?
Thanks also for the thoughts . The present of winter attires, gifts, emails, calls, smsses and facebook messages made my day.. (nak list banyak sangat). Sorry if I am not able to entertain everyone in the airport or replying everyone thought.Your kind support is much appreciated. I am deeply in touched. I dont know how to give back but I know only Allah swt will grant it. Insyallah!
Love,
Noni Nadiah
